Hello Axiom, friends of Axiom and to all others,
We are truly in awe for all God has done and is doing with Axiom. People who would never step into a traditional church are coming to Axiom and being healed, encouraged, and challenged in their faith journey with Christ. Axiom is a growing community that has seen old friends join in our vision and we have seen new friends come to join in and experience the power and freedom we have in Christ. We have been studying trough Paul’s letter to the Galatians and in typical Axiom style we reach back to the church in Acts and debate the scriptures, we share life with each other, we challenge the status quo and we listen to the voice of God as we delve into the scriptures. People are growing in their faith and becoming relational.
God is truly amazing!
We had the pleasure of partnering with the Extreme Tour this year as well as we hosted the 4th of July Party for the bands. Marke and Heather Davenport are great friends to Axiom and we will continue to support their “Dirty Feet Productions” ministry. We also were honored to have Brian Griffing share his incredible talent with us and I do believe that was the first time I had heard “Creep” sung in church, (I told you Axiom was different!)
Great things are ahead for Axiom and for the people who call Axiom home. For me personally, I have become a coach at Oak Hills High School. It’s a new high school in Hesperia, CA and I really believe that it is God who has put me there. I have been able to build relationships with the coaching staff and the football players and I hope to be a positive influence as a coach and as a future teacher on that school campus. Please pray for OHHS as we open in a few weeks and also pray that God will continue to open doors for me at that school.
Axiom is an exciting venture for my wife and I. When we left our previous church we had absolutely no plans to start a new church. In fact starting a church was the last thing we wanted to do but as we visited churches, God began to speak to me, in fact he said, “Why are you even looking for a church? Its time to BE the church Mykel, time to start AXIOM!” So we did, in the middle of summer, when traditionally churches struggle, Axiom has been flourishing. Not because of anything I have done, but because of God calling His people to be relational, to be servants, basically to be more like Jesus.
Well, that’s it. I want to thank you all for your support and your prayers. Without you, there would be no Axiom. Without you responding to God’s call to pray, give financially, or just come, Axiom would not exist. So thank you.
Oh! One last thing…We are currently planning a “Axiom Oktoberfest” in October. It will be a weekend getaway to Big Bear (Friday Night – Sunday Afternoon). This will include worship, some great messages, and also a time to get away and renew yourself. We are still putting it all together so please pray about it as we need at least 12 people to make this happen. More details will be available on the website, myspace and facebook.
