Sozo

Reading 1 Timothy Chapter 2 this morning and there is that word again, Sozo. I did a study on this when I preached a sermon at my church about prayer and salvation. After reading this chapter again, I believe without a doubt that God wants to save, heal, make whole, etc. everyone but because of free will, because of our stubbornness, he will will not and has not saved all.
“He wishes to save all”; for then he would have saved all in matter of fact; but “will have all men to be saved,” implies the possibility of man’s accepting it (through God’s prevenient grace) or rejecting it (through man’s own perversity). Our prayers ought to include all, as God’s grace included all.
